X-rays — muppet

X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation often used in the medical field for diagnostic imaging. Since the waves can penetrate soft tissues in the body, but they are absorbed by denser materials such as bones, this allows medical professionals to take photographs of the internal structures of the body, such as the internal skeleton, helping to diagnose conditions or injuries.

The word is also often used to showcase the letter X when teaching the alphabet. The letter itself lamented that "X-ray" and "xylophone" are the only X-words that people know in Episode 3424 and Episode 3659 of Sesame Street.

Dr. Bunsen Honeydew provides Pepe with the latest Muppet Labs invention during The Muppet Show Live: X-ray vision glasses. Using BVD technology, the glasses can see through underwear, enabling the user to see people naked. Pepe uses them to ogle a woman in the front row, offering to get naked with her, but promptly announces he's taking them off when asked to look for Miss Piggy.

Beaker's skeleton is illuminated when he accidentally electrocutes himself at the end of the "Ode to Joy" music video.

XXRay produced a line of Sesame Street figures depicting the Muppet characters with one half revealing skeleton and organs underneath.
