A Yeti or Abominable Snowman is a mythical creature said to inhabit the Himalayan regions of Nepal, India, and Tibet. Stories of the Yeti began in Western culture in the 19th century, with the legend of a Bigfoot or Sasquatch of North America.
Appearances
- In one of the Wilkins News Report commercials, Skip reports from the Himalayan Mountains with a pot of Wilkins Coffee, hoping the aroma will lure out the elusive Abominable Snowman. The report seems to be a bust until a large white furry pam begins assaulting Skip.
- A giant Yeti approaches a snow-covered log cabin occupied by Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear in the January 3, 1983 edition of The Muppets comic strip.
- Baby Animal pretends to be "the Abominable Snow-Weirdo" in the Muppet Babies episode "Treasure Attic."
- A Yeti briefly appears in the Muppet Babies episode "Around the Nursery in 80 Days," during the song "Flying Away."
- The Abominable Snow Monster is a member of the Monster Hall of Fame as shown in Monsters, Monsters! and reprinted in the On My Way with Sesame Street volume "In the City."
- Dinosaurs, dragons, the Abominable Snowman, and the Loch Ness Monster are four creatures featuring in Herry Monster's "Monsters" book in Sesame Street Finding Out Encyclopedia 8: The M Book.
- The Abominable Snowman is featured in Oscar's Silly ABC's under the letter A.
- A blue Yeti trudges over a mountain peak in the Tibet section of the 2007 book Hide & Seek, Near & Far.
- Bert and Ernie are in search of a very rare pigeon shaped flower on the top of a mountain in an episode of Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures, where they encounter a Yeti during their search.
- Goneril the Goat tells the story of "The Yodeling Yeti" in Bambaloo episode "Woodland Warble." Jet acts out the roles of the yeti.
