Total Request Live, commonly known as TRL, is a TV program that aired daily from Mondays to Thursdays on the cable channel MTV from 1998 to 2008. The original host, Carson Daly, appeared on the show for its first five years. The show aired from MTV Studios in New York City, and was taped before a live and enthusiastic young audience. The core of the daily program was a top 10 countdown of the most requested videos of the day, and the show also included live celebrity appearances and pre-taped news segments.

TRL UK, the British version of the show, aired live from London's Leicester Square from August 2003 to December 2005. Miss Piggy visited the show on September 19, 2005. Piggy was in town for London Fashion Week, where she appeared at the Julien Macdonald show on September 18th, and also appeared on the September 18th television special Avenue of the Stars: 50 Years of ITV.
