Sykar, a planet in the Uncharted Territories, is visited by the Moya crew in the Farscape episode "Thank God It's Friday. Again."

Once a lush and vibrant world, the Peacekeepers seized Sykar to grow Tannot root, a component in chakan oil used to power pulse weapons that also has psychotropic, compliance-inducing properties. The Peacekeepers forced the native population to plant Tannot, and when the Sykarans began eating it, they were soon blissfully following PK orders, planting nothing but Tannot root. After years and years, the landscape was eventually reduced to a wasteland.

Propaganda blares from loudspeakers, promising that today marks the end of the work week and tomorrow will bring rest. The Sykarans labor through the day, party all night, and, under the influence of the Tannot, awaken to work again, never realizing the deception.

Most Sykarans exhibit red skin and white-blonde hair but otherwise resemble humans (or Sebaceans). Aeryn Sun speculates they are "distant cousins at best." Their leader is Volmae.
