Spot is Oscar the Grouch's pet pig that lives inside his trash can on Sesame Street.
Starting with Episode 1535, his earlier appearances (including episodes 1564, 1586, 1589, 1598, 1661, 1648, 1692, 1797, 2023, 2073, 2077, 2486, 2539, and 2971) had a live pig used as the character. By 1993, a Muppet pig was used instead, including Episode 3152, where he was seen as one of the animals making noise to help Oscar forget the "Sesame Street Theme" that lingers in his head. Beginning in Episode 3612, the puppet was given a distinctive pattern of brown spots.
Although not featured on screen, in Episode 3782, Spot was said to be lamenting the absence of fellow-pet Slimey (who went to the moon). He was heard using a jackhammer to help get Curly Bear to take her nap in Episode 4078.
Spot reappeared on camera in Episode 4178, where he received a mud bath from Mike Rowe, and in the beginning of Episode 4180.
