People is a magazine that has been published weekly since 1974. They also produce a television documentary series, People Profiles, for which one was dedicated to Jim Henson in 1999.

• During the opening theme of Aliens in the Family, a "Persons Weekly" magazine cover is shown, declaring the wedding of Doug and Cookie Brody "Marriage of the Year."

• Kermit the Frog features on a parody cover of the Dec 27-Jan 3, 1983, issue, which appears in Kermit's mansion in The Muppets. Later in the film, the real 1979 cover with Miss Piggy can be seen in her dressing room.
