"One" is a song from the 1975 musical A Chorus Line.
The song was performed on Sesame Street by a chorus line of glittery numbers, led by a number 1 (voiced by Fran Brill). (First: Episode 1797) The music track was rerecorded for the song's inclusion on 123 Count with Me, with Ivy Austin replacing Brill's vocals.
The song was also part of the 1985 television special Night of 100 Stars, which featured Jim Henson in a performance of "One," and the Muppets in a salute to New York City. Big Bird later appeared dancing to the song in the 1990 edition of the show.
Notes
- Performers in the Sesame Street version include Fran Brill (the number 1), Jerry Nelson (voice of the director), Richard Hunt (voice of a stagehand), and Ivy Austin (voice in the chorus).
