Marc Boyle on The New Avengers
Marc Boyle (1945-1999) was a British stuntman and actor who was in The Great Muppet Caper as one of the stunt drivers who faces Beauregard's taxi in traffic.[1] He was also stunt coordinator for the Creature Shop-effects film The Neverending Story III.
Boyle was a busy stuntman from the 60s onward, often as a stunt driver (driving for one of the motorcycle gang members in Psychomania and the rally racers in Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies). Film stunt credits included the Star Wars trilogy, the Superman movies, A Bridge Too Far, An American Werewolf in London, various James Bond entries, Escape to Athena (doubling for Elliott Gould), and Batman. He was later stunt arranger on Alien 3, The Fifth Element, The Beach, the film version of TV's The Avengers, and Judge Dredd.
On Doctor Who, Boyle had uncredited stunt parts in several stories (often as a UNIT soldier), played Kronos in "The Time Monster," and was fight arranger for "The Time Warrior." Other TV stunt work included Wodehouse Playhouse, Ripping Yarns, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and Poirot. He appeared periodically in acting roles, often bits as policemen, including Man About the House, Magnum, P.I., The New Avengers, and the movies Outland, The Copter Kids, and Truffaut's Day for Night (appropriately cast as an English stuntman).
