Magic Map of Sesame Street is a stage show featuring Sesame Street characters (Cookie Monster, Grover, Big Bird, Elmo, Abby Cadabby), a human host, and Haibao, mascot of the Shanghai Expo. It's described in promotions as a "multimedia children's musical drama". The production ran from May 1 to October 31, 2010 at the Expo 2010 Shanghai China.
The show included a segment where kids come on stage, to participate in a chemical experiment called "Recycling of Dirty Water", presented by BASF Kids' Lab. Since launching in 2002 in China, BASF's program has grown to 104,000 members. The show has an environmental theme, and is set on five continents.
Jon Baker Productions produced the soundtrack for the show, and Jon Baker composed the theme song.
The production plays at Dock 1, Expo Garden in Pu Xi, a half-open theatre adjacent to Expo Square, and north of the Huangpu River. When viewed at a distance, the theatre looks like a ship anchoring on the river. At the theatre, Sesame Street played twice daily, alternating with two traditional puppet shows.
Telly Monster and Rosita are pictured in publicity, but weren't part of the show.
