Johnny Hart (1931-2007) was a cartoonist who wrote and drew B.C. and scripted The Wizard of Id (with Brant Parker). In 1969, the latter strip was adapted by Jim Henson for an unaired short pilot. Henson first met with Hart about the idea on June 18, 1968.^[1] Jerry Nelson stated that by the time the pilot was produced, however, Hart had lost interest in the project.^[2]

Coincidentally, however, by 1984 both Jim Henson and Johnny Hart had licensed their creations for computer games released by Sierra Online, based on The Dark Crystal and B.C. respectively.
