Sesame Street Cookie Monster Sings 'Hey Food'
"Hey Food" is a Sesame Street parody of The Beatles' song "Hey Jude." Cookie Monster and The Beetles sing the praises of nourishing food as Cookie points to each item mentioned in the lyrics, which he naturally consumes by the song's coda.
Notes
- The segment was directed by David Heeley and taped on January 12, 1983.[1]
- Performers include Jerry Nelson (puppeteering the Lavender Beetle, voiced by Christopher Cerf)[2] and Brian Muehl.[1]
- At the end of the song, part of the drummer's drum set can be seen falling off the stage.
- The script for the song originally called for Cookie Monster to be joined by a female monster with an equally large appetite.[3]
