General Grynes is the leader of the Venek Horde. He appears in the Farscape episode "...Different Destinations." Unlike the other Veneks, Grynes wants to broker peace.
According to a memorial guide, when General Grynes witnesses a battle between the Veneks and nurses, he notices only women and children remain. He then goes back to the other Venek generals to offer a cease-fire. However, when the Moya crew travel back in time to the battle, Grynes becomes injured and remains at the monastery where he is discovered by Crichton.
To get things back on track, Crichton attempts to sneak Grynes onto the battlefield where he can regroup with the Venek Horde. Nurse Kelsa catches Crichton and Grynes, and, suspicious of Crichton's motives, shoots and kills the general.
