SCENE 1 | Oscar admires the sound Maria's hammering makes as she nails a poster advertising the block association meeting later. ("Sounds like 'Sonata for Door and Hammer' by Ludwig von Grouch!") Maria ends up hitting her finger, and warns Oscar not to enjoy her pain. To her surprise, Oscar shows compassion by applying antiseptic to the wound and handing her a band-aid. Oscar tells her to stay safe when she's working; he doesn't have the strength to stay so ungrouchy. |

SCENE 2 | Big Bird minds Hooper's Store as Mr. Hooper dines in the yard with Maria, Jay, and Luis. Mr. Snuffleupagus comes into the store and Big Bird tries to lead everyone inside, but as usual the others don't believe him. Snuffy explains that he’s waiting for the bus because Big Bird once told him that "Hooper's has everything." Big Bird explains that he needs to look for a "BUS" sign. Snuffy leaves for the bus stop, and Big Bird is left alone when Jay and the grown-ups come back into the store to meet the supposed Snuffleupagus. Meanwhile, Snuffy is outside and finds the right sign. When Big Bird realizes the group is also going in Snuffy’s direction to catch a bus, he rushes to the bus stop. The others are gone and he doesn’t see Snuffy anywhere... until he looks up a tree and sees him there! Snuffy climbed the tree since that’s where the arrow on the bus stop sign points, though he wonders why the bus didn't pick him up.
(Blooper: At the beginning of a shot where Snuffy first sees the bus stop sign, the director can be heard quietly saying, "Action.") |
