Dan is one of Big Head's subordinates, working in Product Development, as shown in a Muppet Meeting Film, "Blinded By Research." He and Denise from Marketing, after doing some focus group research, find average consumers would choose being poked in the eye with a sharp stick over boiling in acid, if given the option. As such, the two develop "The Sharp Stick 3000," that ends up losing the company millions.

The puppet appeared in subsequent shorts, including "How to End a Meeting" (performed by Peter Linz and referred to as "Bob") and "Top Ten Reasons to Take a Break" (performed by Joey Mazzarino).
