A letter D-themed parody of Dragnet, complete with "Ds" sung as the recurring Dragnet sting.
Detective Dave is in his office about to dine on a danish, when a dame named Darlene enters. She needs his help in finding the missing letter D from her dog Dino, who is rendered an "OG" without it. Detective Dave always delivers and goes on the case.
He begins his search down at the docks, where the dastardly Don Doola can often be found. Dave confronts Don, who denies any wrongdoing, but Dave clearly sees Dino's D behind Don's back. Don releases the D, making Dino a full-fledged "DOG" once more. He confesses that he stole the D because he doesn't have a dime to his name, possessing an "IME." Dave has an extra D and gives it to Don.
The closing announcement declares that no letter Ds were damaged in the making of this daring drama.
