A ball is a round object (usually spherical, but sometimes ovoid) with several uses, often recreational. It can be used in ball games, where the play of the game follows the state of the ball as it is hit, kicked or thrown by players in such real-world games as baseball, basketball and football, or in such fictional Muppet games as Headball, Bubbleball and Mossball.
Balls were the central focus of the debut episode of Elmo's World in 1998 with the episode "Elmo's World: Balls" and the 2001 Elmo's World book "Balls!" The topic was revisited with a second "Elmo's World: Balls" episode in 2020 and the My Sesame Street Friends episode "My Abby: Balls."
Sesame-themed ball pits have been featured at Sesame Place, including Snuffle Balls and The Count's Ball Room.
